The KidStart Mentoring Program operated by PLEA Community Services Society of BC received $355,000 from Vancity, which is the final installment of the 2005 $1million Vancity Award. KidStart provides adult volunteer mentors for vulnerable children and youth in Metro Vancouver, Victoria and Campbell River.

Pacific Assistance Dogs received the first installment of a $300,000 pledge from the Milan and Maureen Ilich Foundation. PADS breeds raises and trains dogs to place with people who have a physical disability.

The Richmond Public Library has received the 2008 Cultural Diversecity Award for Business in recognition of its outstanding contributions in the area of multicultural services and resources for new immigrants.

Concert Properties donated $750,000 in services to the the first Burn Fund Building in North America. They have joined with British Columbia's Professional Fire Fighters to provide services to develop and manage the $25 million project.
