For the fifth consecutive year, Concert Properties has been recognized as a BC Top Employer, a distinction that underscores our dedication to building a workplace where people feel truly valued, supported and inspired to grow.
The BC Top Employer program evaluates organizations based on eight key factors. This year, Concert Properties stood out for our proactive approach to enhancing employee programs and benefits, many of which were shaped by direct feedback from our team.
One of the most significant enhancements has been increasing flexibility in benefits, ensuring employees have access to meaningful support that meets their unique needs. This includes the introduction of a $1,000 lifestyle spending account, which allows employees to allocate funds toward daycare expenses, gym memberships, elder-care costs and other priorities. Additionally, employees can access a $500 annual healthcare spending account, providing extra flexibility for medical and wellness-related expenses.
Concert Properties also continues to prioritize employee well-being through a $1,500 annual mental health practitioner allowance, ensuring employees can access professional support when needed. A $200 work-from-home allowance helps employees create a productive workspace, and the company regularly hosts education sessions on mental, physical, social and financial health to provide ongoing support.
Aran Clarke, Interim Chief Administration Officer, says this recognition reflects the company’s commitment to putting people first.
"Our ability to build strong communities starts with our people," says Clarke. "We know that when employees feel supported and engaged, they bring their best to the work they do every day. This recognition reflects our collective efforts to create a workplace where people feel valued and have the tools to succeed."
Beyond traditional benefits, Concert Properties fosters a strong culture of inclusion and engagement, strengthened by the recent completion of our three-year Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) strategy. The company offers professional development opportunities, participation in community engagement events, along with wellness initiatives such as our gardening club, health screenings and community fitness events. Employees are encouraged to provide feedback on ways to improve their workplace experience, and that feedback continues to shape the programs and policies in place today.
"Being named a BC Top Employer for the fifth year in a row is an honour, but we know there is always more we can do," says Clarke. "We remain committed to listening to our employees, evolving our workplace and ensuring that Concert Properties continues to be a place where people thrive—both professionally and personally."
