Concert welcomed its first residents to Tapestry at Victoria Harbour on February 16, 2021. Located steps from the spectacular Inner Harbour, Concert’s newest community for active aging, independent adults is our first Tapestry on Vancouver Island and the fourth in Canada.
Like all Tapestry communities, Victoria Harbour offers residents the opportunity to live in a vibrant, dynamic and socially-connected environment where they can live their best life surrounded by likeminded friends and neighbours.
“Tapestry’s commitment to wellness and supporting active aging is what really distinguishes our communities,” says Mark Andrew, Senior Vice President, Seniors. “We believe wellness is the roadmap to staying independent longer so that individuals can continue to pursue their life’s passion and purpose to truly embrace a new age.”
Wellness underpins all of Tapestry’s service offerings with programming aligned to the 7 Dimensions of Wellness to ensure a holistic approach that inspires mind, body and spirit. It is this unique approach that has earned Tapestry’s other communities, two in Vancouver and one in Toronto, recognition as among the top 25 Best in Wellness in North America – the only Canadian communities to earn this prestigious achievement.
It only takes one look at Tapestry to see what makes it extraordinary. Homes are as bright and stylish as they are functional, with every suite featuring a full, contemporary kitchen. Suites boast unparalleled water, treetop and city views that showcase the beauty of the Inner Harbour. The fifth-floor deck is magnificent and provides a place for residents to soak in the stunning views while gardening, enjoying the cozy fireplace, barbecuing or simply lounging in comfort.
What also differentiates Tapestry is its enriched service offering, including a full-service Restaurant and Pub, weekly housekeeping and linen service, concierge services and transportation via the community’s Tesla, a reflection of Tapestry’s focus on environmental sustainability, a principle reflected in all aspects of design, operation and financing.
Concert was proud to receive HSBC's first green loan in Canada to build Tapestry at Victoria Harbour, cementing our reputation for building sustainable communities. The loan was provided because of the building’s strong green attributes, including using 33% less energy than a comparable building and overall energy use intensity equal to ‘Step Three’ of the BC Energy Step Code.
“Tapestry at Victoria Harbour demonstrates our commitment to quality, sustainability and creating diverse and inclusive communities that enrich the lives of Canadians,” says Brian McCauley, President and CEO, Concert.
