Vancouver, BC, Canada – Concert Properties today announced that effective immediately it has named Daniel O. Jarvis as Chief Financial Officer reporting to David R. Podmore, Concert’s President & Chief Executive Officer.
"Dan holds extensive experience as a chief financial officer in the development industry," said Podmore. "He has a proven track record of organizational growth and success and everyone at Concert looks forward to working with him as we pursue new development and business opportunities."
In 1989, Dan joined Intrawest Corporation as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Director assuming responsibility for acquisitions and the raising of capital. He took the company public in 1990 and was instrumental in growing the company from a market capitalization of $80 million to $1.8 billion at the time of its acquisition by Fortress Canada Investment Corporation in 2006. During that period, the company raised several billion dollars in public and private financings in Canada, the United States and Asia, and went public on the NYSE.
By 2006, Intrawest had eleven resorts across North America as well as real estate projects and investments in Europe.
Prior to joining Intrawest, Dan was the Chief Financial Officer of BCE Development Corporation and, prior to that, Treasurer of BCE Inc. He also worked with the investment banking arm of Wood Gundy Ltd. in Toronto and Montreal.
Most recently, Dan led the formation and launch of a new destination club for Abercrombie & Kent.
Dan holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University. He currently serves on the board of BC Pavilion Corporation and the Harry Winston Diamond Corporation and is actively involved in the community.
