The Marriott hotel chain has named its Victoria property hotel of the year for 2007. Opened in 2004 to much fanfare, the 16-storey, 236-room building on Humboldt Street was wrapped in a giant red bow. The Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour has earned a slew of accolades from the Washington, D.C.-based company, but to be named best hotel after only three years is "a source of immense pride for us all," said general manager Francis Mairet.
The four-diamond Marriott, built by Concert Properties, is managed by Atlific Hotels and Resorts, which operates 40 hotels in Canada and another 100 in the U.S. through parent company Ocean Properties Ltd.
