Construction has commenced this month on Concert and Jawl Properties’ Capital Park development in the James Bay neighbourhood of Victoria. Excavation of the first phase is now underway on a project that will incorporate market-leading office space, dynamic retail amenities, condominium and rental housing as well as a comprehensive network of well-appointed public areas.
What’s particularly unique to this project is that the five existing heritage homes on the site will be relocated to accommodate a mixed-use community that will be a place to live, work and explore. Three of the homes are being relocated within the site, two are being relocated off-site, but each and every one will be carefully restored. You may be wondering, how exactly do you move a house? The answer is very carefully! Click here to watch a brief time-lapse video of one of the homes being moved.
