Concert Proud To Be Selected Among Finalists for the Province's Better Buildings BC Contest

Reducing our environmental footprint has long been a priority at Concert. Moving forward, sustainability continues to be key focal point as we begin to define specific environmental and social goals that move our company forward as a leader in this area.

“It is through a rigorous approach to sustainability that we are truly able to instill social vibrancy in our communities,” says Dave Ramslie, Concert’s Vice President, Sustainability.

And this approach lends itself well to Concert’s recent selection as a finalist in the design incentive portion of the Better Buildings BC contest, one of many CleanBC initiatives aimed at assisting developers all over the province to reduce carbon emissions, and design more comfortable and healthy buildings.

Announced in October of 2018, over 50 applications were received, citing more than 170 different organizations as proponents, suppliers or partners. As one of only 15 selected, Concert will receive funding that will support the extra energy modelling and analysis required to explore the feasibility of going to the highest levels of the step code for our project.

“As a community developer, we take our obligation to ensure sustainability remains at the forefront our practice very seriously,” says Brian McCauley, Concert’s President and CEO. “We’re pleased to be included among finalists for this portion of the Better Buildings BC contest as it reflects this continued commitment.”

Finalists of the design incentive are now required to submit a full application by March 31, 2019, for the Net Zero Energy Ready Incentive, which provides assistance for the construction phase of the building.
