Concert Properties' Employees Sleep Out to Support Vancouver's Homeless Youth

Concert Properties is proudly partnering with Covenant House Vancouver, continuing a 30-Year tradition of giving back to the community

July 18, 2019, Vancouver, BC – Fifty Concert Properties’ employees from the Vancouver office are celebrating the company’s 30-Year anniversary by committing to sleeping out the night of July 18 to raise awareness of youth homelessness, and support fundraising for Covenant House.

Each participating employee will be provided with a sleeping bag and a piece of cardboard to get a glimpse of what too many youths experience every night on the streets. As many as 40,000 youth spend some time homeless in Canada every year, and on any given night, there are between 500 and 1,000 young people living on the streets in Vancouver. By taking on the challenge of spending one night on the street, Concert Properties staff are demonstrating their commitment to making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable youth.

“Since our founding 30 years ago, Concert has helped to transform the City of Vancouver, now recognized for its livability and quality of life. However, we still have a long way to go to house youth that are most vulnerable, with no other place to sleep than on the streets. I’m encouraged to see so many Concert employees actively supporting this worthy cause. As a team we are helping to provide critical funds and awareness for Covenant House and helping to change the lives of those most at risk,” says Brian McCauley, President and CEO of Concert, who slept out last week in Toronto and is sleeping out tonight in Vancouver.

Covenant House Vancouver provides hope and support to homeless, trafficked or at-risk youth who have been forced from their homes. As Canada’s largest agency serving these youth who had fled physical, emotional and sexual abuse, they offer the widest range of 24-7 services. Covenant House Vancouver provided food, shelter, clothing, counselling and more to 1,228 young people last year. More information can be found at: www.sleepoutvancouver.org/concert
