Shovels in the ground at Era

In Victoria, Concert’s 16-storey, 157-home condominium development, Era, is now under construction.

Era is Concert’s fifth new condominium development in Victoria in the last eight years. Astoria, Belvedere, Chelsea, 365 Waterfront and now Era stand as proof of Concert’s commitment to building quality homes in Victoria.

Located in the heart of downtown Victoria on Yates Street between Douglas and Blanshard, all the conveniences of downtown living are close at hand. Much like Victoria itself, Era harmoniously blends new with old by integrating the existing heritage brick façade with modern concrete and glass.

While the Era early sales program has been well received, there is still a great selection of homes available. Most priced below $398,900.

Those interested in finding out more about this unique development are encouraged to visit or visit the Sales Centre at 754 Humboldt Street (next door to the Marriott Hotel).

Palomar’s grand opening & CRB designation

On Saturday, July 14, Concert staff and residents came together to celebrate the grand opening of Palomar, the final phase of the company’s master-planned community of Village Gate West in Etobicoke.

Palomar at Village Gate West is a purpose-built rental development that contains 283 suites in the 26-storey tower and an adjacent four-storey townhouse component.

At the event, Palomar officially joined the ranks of Concert’s other rental apartment buildings in Ontario in receiving the Certified Rental Building (CRB) designation. The CRB program is the only one of its kind in North America and was developed by the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario to provide rental housing consumers with assurance of quality they can count on when selecting their rental apartment home.

In honour of the occasion, all Village Gate West residents were treated to a BBQ, face painting, ice cream and music on a beautiful summer’s day.

How do you get the excavator out?

Have you ever walked by a construction site and wondered, just how will the construction crew ultimately get the excavator out of the foundation hole?

In the case of Concert’s Salt condominium development in downtown Vancouver, a 110,000-pound excavator was left at the bottom of an 80-foot hole. Just how did we get it out? Watch this video to find out.

Staff fun, Concert style

At Concert, staff fun is serious business. The company’s FUN Committee meets regularly to plan fun and novel events that provide the opportunity for staff to get away from their desks and socialize. It has been going on for years in the Vancouver office and is just another way Concert shows itself to be ‘a developer with a difference’.

This summer the committee has been busy planning events that make the most of summer such as a garden patio party and an Olympic-themed popsicle Friday in the staff room. There are rumors of more events to come next month, but the committee is known to be a tight-lipped group.

Past FUN Committee events have included The Amazing Race, where teams raced around completing tasks and solving clues, mini golfing, casino nights and pumpkin carving contests.

If you would like to get in on the fun, we have some good news for you. Concert is currently hiring for a Property Management Assistant, Maintenance Person and part-time Residential Services Agent in Vancouver. To find out more   visit the careers section of Concert’s website .

Founded in 1989, Concert specializes in developing rental apartments, condominium homes and retirement communities, acquiring and developing commercial, industrial and infrastructure properties and in property management. With operations in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario and the backing of more than 200,000 Canadians represented by the union and management pension plans who own Concert, our commitment is to build strong, sustainable communities across Canada.
