Vancouver, BC, Canada – Concert is proud to have once again surpassed their fundraising target by generating a record-breaking $182,000 for trades training in their 16th annual golf tournament.
This year’s “All Things Canadian” theme was a nod to the company’s exclusively Canadian activity and ownership. In addition to enjoying authentically Canadian delicacies such as maple bacon doughnuts and poutine; golfers enjoyed themed holes that channeled the spirit of the Maritimes, the great outdoors, hockey, hunting and life on a farm. To top it all off, there was even a hockey shootout that saw Concert staff suit up in goalie pads while golfers took aim with their best slap shot.
“This year’s tournament was a tremendous fundraising success thanks to the generous support of our trades, consultants and suppliers" said Brian McCauley, Concert’s President & Chief Operating Officer. “As always the day also proved to be a fun and memorable experience for our friends, colleagues and employees."
Recognizing that skilled trades people are an essential part of the development and construction industry, Concert has been working with industry partners since 2002 in support of trades training. The proceeds from this year’s tournament will go towards charitable programs in Vancouver and Toronto aimed at providing an ongoing supply of highly-skilled and well-trained trades people to the construction trades industry.
With the support of the 140 golfers who played at QGolf Club (Quilchena Golf & Country Club) in Richmond on Thursday, September 19, Concert was able to raise another $182,000 towards this worthy cause. To date, Concert has contributed a cumulative $1.8 million in support of students in trades and technology programs related to the construction industry through various initiatives.
